Boarding Services

The Furologist is a family-owned grooming, boarding, daycare, and training salon built on education, balance, and genuine care. Our hands-on, family-run approach means every dog is known by name, personality, and individual needs.

With a background in veterinary care and a commitment to continued education, we support pets’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being—inside and outside our facility. Here, your dog isn’t just a guest; they’re family, and we’re honored to be their home away from home.

Boarding Details

Our overnight boarding provides a cozy, home-like alternative to large, busy commercial kennels. With only seven kennels in our facility, we can give each dog personalized attention, care, and supervision, ensuring a calm, comfortable stay. While we specialize in catering to dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, all dogs are welcome—anyone who would enjoy a more personal, home-style boarding experience will feel right at ease here.

At The Furologist, overnight boarding is designed to feel like a safe, structured home away from home—complete with routines, enrichment, and lots of individual attention. During their stay, dogs rotate between indoor time, our secure outdoor area, enrichment activities, and supervised play, with plenty of opportunities for rest and relaxation. Our enrichment program includes puzzle toys, scent games, and gentle guided interactions, keeping dogs mentally stimulated without overwhelming them. With a certified trainer as our pack leader, every dog benefits from calm structure, positive guidance, and support for good behavior, helping them feel confident and secure while away from home.

To keep all tails wagging and guests healthy, we follow a few important requirements. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old and up to date on vaccinations. Dogs over 6 months must have a rabies vaccine, and dogs over 8 months must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian provides written approval for a delay. All boarding guests are required to complete a day or overnight interview and assessment within the past six months; if your dog hasn’t stayed with us in over six months, a new assessment will be needed before booking.

Drop-offs and pick-ups take place between 8–10 AM and 4–6 PM, unless otherwise arranged. Overnight guests must be dropped off before 4 PM to allow time to settle in before the evening routine begins. While staff do not remain on-site overnight, our facility is monitored by security cameras with immediate alerts, and we live less than five minutes away to provide late-night walks or quick response if needed. To support work–life balance for our family (and yours!), we do not offer pick-ups or drop-offs on Sundays or holidays. After-hours service is available by pre-scheduling for a $20 fee, and select holidays or peak dates include a $10 per night seasonal rate.

Each dog receives a brief health check upon arrival. Owners must provide clear instructions for medications, feeding, allergies, and special care needs. We use treats sparingly for manners and recall training, accommodate food sensitivities, and offer a gentle, sensitive-stomach house kibble if your pup runs out or forgets their own.
